love oozes out of open heart
as cork removed from bottle of fine liquor
kept inside,
bounces to over flow rim.
my heart breaks
if it remains confined,
such is my love for her innocence
my heart dreams, visualises,
keep her memories.
the thirst remains,
however I drink from her bosom
I carried her as my shadow
with me,
wherever I walked
and took shelter.
I come alive
with senses awake,
strode with her
holding index finger
deserts bloom for me
in her presence.
my life finds meaning
not literal,
but fulfilling
as sky holding
stars,
on cloudless nights.
there is no infatuation
but love born,
with sperm finding union
in empty womb,
creates new,
.
.
perpetuate selfless

"the thirst remains" <-- love, love, love it. Your metaphors of wine and love intermingling here were beautifully done, honestly - and the poem over all was worded very well i felt. best wishes in the contest
