Autumn leaves of orange and red drift mercifully in the chilled breeze,
My reflection in the merky lake remeneces with a shadowed past,
Tears glisten in my eyes,
As I stare at the broken shardes of time ticking away on my wrist.
I know the desolate trail beside me will remain undisturbed,
Just another forgotten memory traveled upon once before.
Fullfilling disappointment washes over my awakend empty state,
Words of deciete play over and over in my mind like a broken record,
It had always been a never ending mistake to love you,
To give everything,
Knowing I'd never have anything to show for it in the end.
Cloud nine promises will remain a disconnected fragment in my life.
While perched against a desecrated bench like a sinking stone on waters edge,
My lack of reality lacerates the bleeding depths of sewed up notions.
Hidden holes within truth unconsciously guided me to this place of peaceful loneliness,
Hope perpetually was a downfall.
Yet some how my worthless imitation of smile remains in debt to your revulsive charade.
Maybe one day contentment can genuinely exist within a cynical hole of favored hate.
