Smiling Child

Smiling Child
Written on Aug 23 2005

Smiles paint me
in hues of lush green
evergreens and rainbows
of flowers unleashed

The child within
longs to run and play
singing hymns of fall
along river banks

Where the sun glows
and laughter reigns
leaving shadows of life
toiling in decay

Butterflies touch me
wind teasing my hair
with outstretched arms
I keep dancing there

Twirling in smiles
upon lush green grass
where flowers bloom
and memories began

Here I am free to soar
chaos long cast away
in the trinket of tomorrow
I relive my yesterdays

light and smiling, free in nature's fine garden, let the paint never dry while the footsteps swirl in the rhythm - a good poem.
