I can see in my minds eye "a leaf on the wind, golden shard born aloft", even though we are in late spring and most things are green. A really good haiku.

Hi dog, n how are you these days? I've been AWOL from writing poetry for a couple months now as my hubby had another amputation on his non-amputated leg (2 toes) then a month later a pacemaker put in (due to heart stopping) both done on both our birthdays respectively, so for christmas... what? A labotamy?? LMAO. Anyways wanted to get back in the swing of things and thought i'd give one of your wonderful haiku's a look-see. This one is breathtaking, unique, smart, & your choice of words i find highly intelligent. Major prop's to you on this haiku. Warmly, chrissy

Seventeen syllables that are thought provoking, full of imagery and satisfy with a sigh, the inclusion of vagabonds leaves this resonating.

Congratulations on the well deserved HM.

I like this a lot. I read it again and again and thought how imaginative that it is. Now i know what all those things are i read on the train going to work every morning. A very clever play on words. I normally find them difficulty to understand (this type of poetry) but you gave that one a sense of, 'hey, see me' and i did. Well done, Dogfish.

One of the better haikus I've read in awhile, love the word vagabond, very effective.

i used to make crowns of the leaves and would only use leaves that were in the act of falling- if they hit the ground they were "soiled" lol... i always would try for the brightest ones like jewels about my forehead and then i would run around like a crazy lady like in alice and wonderland...
and you brought me to this childhood memory with such beautiful simplicity

    they are...

    they are wings, and leaves
and birds and all sorts of flying objects- and we watch
    and love
because they are wings and birds
and all sorts of flying, scattered, independent objects

    wonderful poetry

I am an Autumn baby & love the leaves...

I also usually claim to be a Gypsy ~ it's much easier than trying to explain the different pieces & parts. lol

Lovely haiku, Poet. Lucky Jane. Good luck in Danna's contest.

I don't look at it as being sad as much as being a time of reflection & harvest. Besides, I love the smell of a fire on the hearth & soup on the stove. And hot chocolate, of course. You're always welcome, Scribe.
