She reaches out for a hand
a hand in the dark
but it fades into shadows
She brings her hand back
back to her chest
her heart beats faster
She searches the dark
searches for something
for something to tell her
To tell her where she is
how she got there
why she even went there
when she finds nothing
she realizes there is nothing
she is nothing
morning comes
she awakes
she is still alone

Very relatable. The only comfort I've found in a situation like this is to hope that someday, in someone's eyes, you will be something. It's a cosmic fact that as long as we are breathing there's a chance a hand will pull us from the dark, no matter how small that point of hope seems. Don't let the past limit your perception of the future, anything's possible.

Is there such a thing as enlightened loneliness? The recognition of being alone, or maybe too alone, can be frightening in the dark. And that's one thing I like about the AP, I don't feel so alone. There's that line of communication, no matter how thin, that connects thoughts to like thoughts. And that is comforting. We are less alone when we meet and speak.
And so thanks for putting this out there. ~
