Dear Darlene and Dee,
As both of you well know, I don’t write contest poetry
apart from Huguenauties where I’ll make a non-entry
but this is an exception which I simply could not miss
and I hope I don’t create some sort of precedent with this.
Yes, this contest is special, run by Catz for her dear Sis
and that’s a combination which I feel I just can’t miss.
So, with this itty-bitty ditty, I just want to say
to my dear friend J’aime Coudre: “Have a Hippy Happy Day!”.
I do intend to send a birthday card in my own way,
and I’ve put it in my diary as “Darlene’s Special Day”.
I find, as I get older, I’m beginning to get daft
and otherwise forget things ‘coz I’m suffering from CRAFT* .
Oh! That reminds me Dee, when you get safe home after all,
we must begin to plan the details of the Castle Ball!
With love and hugs to you both, XXX Hugh (R.)
* CRAFT = Can't Remember A Flipping Thing!

Thank you Hugh for the "itty bitty" birthday wish...I know what you mean about suffereing from CFAFT desease...

Hugh, admit it, you are a precedent setter,
as a truly wise, gregarious King should be!

Castle Ball? Did I read that right...oh and I've nothing to wear...maybe I can ask to borrow one of the ladies fancy ball gowns...

Well, now precedence has been set so when Kevin has that big "We Love Yem Day!" contest you'll have to enter. Only the best of AP will be allowed to enter, because well, as you know, I'm high class........
I hope she gets lots of entries and I know she'll be honored that you entered.

Thank you, Hugh, for such a special poem. I think maybe I should just go ahead and tell Darlene about the contest so she can enjoy the entries along with the rest of us. I have a feeling she's probably already seen it and just isn't saying anything

Thank you for entering your non-entry poem
I know she'll enjoy it, entry or not

De
