began it for me.
With the appeal of your stature
you soared endlessly.
I staggered at your greatness;
insight that flows.
You didn't know I was watching
the seeds you sowed.
Now I somewhat attempt to duplicate
such a fine example.
From a distance I struggle to
be a small sample.
If I could sow smiles in lives
like you do,
my life would have more meaning
and substance too.
To dance in the sunshine/rain like you
no difference between them
I'd grasp your delightful attitude
live life to the rim.
The faith that you model inside
coasts me along
I find myself visually stimulated
by your soul's song.

What a marvelous experience it is to know such a person, and have their example handy to reflect on and apply our efforts to duplicate!
Excellent title. Then you put your finger directly on the qualities that you find so magnetic: strength of character, insight, caring for others, finding joy in the ordinary, and a soul at peace through faith. Touching dedication in "from a distance I struggle to be a small sample." Very nice "sow smiles in lives." Great tribute, "your delightful attitude" to "live life to the rim."

A beautiful and positive poem. What a great job with the prompt. Finding what challenges us to live for God and then moving in that direction is great example for us all.
