Drunken Cinderella

Vodka or Bud Light Lime
Fun consists of heartbreak
Time spills on the bar room floor
Dance like a mad woman
Fall like a pro

“I don’t go to meet girls, I go to fuck”
Mascara smudged
Five shots down
Girls forget to be polite

“I’M SO HORNY”

They sing.
Five decibels too high
In the back of the cab
12am, hunting for mates
It’s not just a hookup
It’s a lifestyle

Tell me one good reason
Why
They spend three hours getting ready
For guys who say things like

“This place is full of bitches”

One in six women will be sexually assaulted
In her lifetime
Eighteen year old angels, virgins
They are all being misplaced here
Forgetting their prospects
And trying to fit in

What kind of a world
Turns high school sweethearts
Into one night stands?
And to think
Our Daddies used to tell us Cinderella
As a bedtime story

Please tell me what you think

Alcohol is a game changer, though it only frees one to
do what they are capable of "in the first place". I've
heard many over the years blaming things on the alcohol
but alcohol doesn't change the "core" you that's there
and that is where the flaw is in their "excuses". In the
end it comes down to basic character and there are people
who simply can't be "bought" at any price. It is always
surprising how easily some people sell themselves out
all in the name of "fitting in", conforming to the crowd
    that they hang with.
Maybe some people just need to find a completely whole new set of so-called "friends".

    Past slips
but echoes still bang my skull
    drawing me once again
    into their chaos

    I fight to return
    to consciousness
knowing my only hope for survival
    lies in the change

    of today

    Hugs...Eddy
