Bad memories
have the ability
to defeat
our defenses
loop and
play back
like a
catchy tune
you don't
know the words to
time may help heal
but it also
destructs
one and the same
sometimes
were our minds
erasable
by wave of
magnetic wand
ignorance
is no weapon
when the enemy
is part of you
of your world
your history
future repetition
digs ruts deeper
but dulls the
destination

I thought to call it "defenses" but I don't know if that would do it justice, I've always been critical of my own titles. They usually suck.
I feel melancholy and awakened when I read this, if that makes any sense to you. It's like a beautiful disaster.
This poem I'll have to keep as a favorite, it's wonderfully written and I don't feel that dating it bares any significance to the wonder of this poem, so don't worry about that. Just don't stop!
