Torch

I’m in a free fall now
Down an endless hole
Too dark to see my own hand
Too cold to feel my own tear

In a hope to save myself
I let go of the connection
Binding my soul to this shell
That no longer serves a purpose

Then all at once there is light
So brilliant it sets flesh to flame
Finally free at last, I decide to stay
In this pit of eternal self destruction

One light to make a difference
I never could make in life of flesh
Here I wait, glowing ever brighter
Helping those who lost their way
