being bold, showing companionship
among the restless

I saw the picture and first thought of a person that has overcome an obstacle because at first all you see is an empty room but then you see a shadow of a person standing outside of the room.
So i first thought maybe of a person who was trapped there for whatever reason (whether its a hospital etc....)
But then the person found out how to get better and made it outside of his/her own personal hell. So i felt as if this person has had many adventures and many turmoils, so among those less fortunate they can show some kind of compassion because they have been there before.
That is what i thought.

this is a really great piece, I am more an interpretation person, so I must admit to NOT reading your explanation as poetry is the readers interpretation not the writers intention
Best to you in the contest

Ghost, this is so bone chilling and creepy, yet very good!
Best of luck in the contest!
