the power in our tears

The first gift given
upon my day
of birth.

Empowered
by the heavens
mighty tears of blessed earth.

Screaming, wailing,
yelping…..
The BEST present ever!

For what would I become
if I never dared to live,
love, and weep
mighty tears of girth.

    Excellent

A very fine write. Imagery; rhythm and rhyme are just fine. Thanks for sharing this one with us. Again, well done.

that was so kind of you...your compassion is touching
    and wise.
I promise you....I laugh with mighty joy...I have
learned mightily that tears and forgiveness are
    the gates to freedom!
Where we can dance and sing...and even cry if we
    want too!

    thankyou thoughtsforu for your compassion!

True is the fact we enter life with crying as babes. As old as I am there have been times where I cried for various reasons. I read you comment below and its sad that you won't allow others to see you suffer. Crying does not make one admitting defeat. Crying cleanses the soul of pain that people go through. Don't be afraid to show your emotions open up to those who love you. Good luck in the contest.

i've always been uncomfortable..crying...it makes me
feel awkward..as if i am drowning in self-
    pity or um... admitting defeat...
(probably a leftover of childhood beatings)
as if I was telling my father.. I will not allow you
to see me suffer...trying to restore fragile and bold
    shards of dignity.

Tears....cleansing, restoring, making room for healing,
and bold celebration..of being ALIVE generously!
it truly makes sense now..(2 years later)
.when the final straw fell...I almost wept for an entire year!
I still remember, my grief counselor telling me...
how proud he was of every single tear I had the
courage to release....that it is an important doorway
to understanding, and re-building a life of genuine
    compassion and strength.
    Healing is beautiful!

I never thought of the beginnings of life in this way. "Tears" are the way a baby communicates. There have been studies done that share with us the different cry sounds that express what the infant desires. I love the form, and the content here. Very well penned my sister/friend. I wish you the best in the challenge.

Excellently done! Tears are the purest proof of true emotion. Tears of joy, tears of sadness. Beautifully done!

    Yes...

they are a part of our lives, they announce our arrival into the world, they express our joys, fears, sadnesses, and in fact every emotion you can think of, and then they are passed on to those who mourn our passing...excellent perception my friend good luck in the contest
