She stood at 4’10
Short and brown skin
Beautiful in her father’s eyes
Ugly is what she sees
When she looks below her thighs
Because she has what only a few select has
And when she thinks about it
It either makes her mad or sad
And that ‘her’ is me
I’m the short individual that you see.
I spit words and I write rhymes
Because I know that what comes out my mouth
Is more than what a hustler makes on the grind.
Because as you can see
I AM UGLY BEAUTY.
Beauty on the inside
And ugly on the out
Wondering when will some of that beauty fall out
And stick on to me.
I want to see what other people see
I’m beautiful
I’m this and I’m that,
But the only thing I see
Is an ugly woman I grew up to be.
Nobody ever told me I was beautiful growing up
And that’s why when I hear people say it
It makes it sound so unreal
Because I don’t believe the words they say to me.
I already know the deal.
Guys say it to me to get in my pants
And females just say it
To come up with a plan to make me cry,
But I no longer shed tears
For those who are combined
With dumbness and hate
Because you see I may be ugly,
But no matter what they may say
I am beautiful!
And ugly times ugly equals ugly
And ugly divided by short and sweet equals beauty.

Such a big back and forth between one's opinion of oneself and what everyone else says they see. I know your pain on that as I am much in the same position (except I'm a guy... sorry
). But, as I've come to find out just recently, there will be one person that makes you cast away these thoughts while you are close to them. I know this isn't quite so much a need for love poem, mayhaps, but that is how it's working out for me. I wish you the best of luck in this issue and in the contest.

so many girls struggle with beauty issues i for sure do and im short to hun we are just funsized remember that and some day a guy will mean it when he calls you beautiful. if you ever need to talk im here
