Quiet country road, what have you seen?
Porch sitters on Sunday or something more obscene?
Have you watched an eagle fly overhead or looked to violent skies?
Have you heard a family noisily chatting or so many lies?
Have you tasted the scent of cooling pies or the odor of decay?
Quiet country road, I have no where to go and can idle all day.
So tell me a story of what you know,
Then, and only then, may I go.
What caught you, if anything?

Welcome to AllPoetry
What an enchanting poem! The juxtapositioning of the road and it's many stories of either good or bad things is captivating and excellent to read
