Living
in constant
chronic pain
your body
defeated
total frustration
depletes
the you
in the equasion.
You find yourself
thinking
what if...
who cares....
would anyone
even know I was gone.
Things that meant so little
now overwhelms you
your unable to live
a normal life anymore.
Being at the point of suicide
witnessing a child of my own
feeling those incredible feelings
changed me!
Now that I have dealt with
myself and my child
I learned so much.
I never saw it happening
when my child suffered
the signs were shallow
and I was in my own world.
Now my eyes have opened
my ears can hear it too
I take time to listen
when someone needs
to be heard.
I believe I have helped others
I know I have myself
my child has also grown
knowledge is the key.
Author notes
The sad part of my sons depression was a doctor was seeing him on a weekly basis for all kinds of non verifiable complaints. It wasn't till 3 years later he ask me was my son depressed? I didn't think so. But the doctor was aware of the signs and never once pushed the idea. Needless to say I took him in to be evaluated and he suffered from several things. His depression was worked out. Mine was solved during that period too which helped.
The key to recognizing this is knowledge.
It is more common than people knows and the signs aren't always there for someone to see. Depression can be hid.
We must push for more help in getting people educated more so now due the the worlds economy and the fact children are made inot adults sooner.
Thanks for the opportunity.
