He is Present

With deep sorrow I contemplate
my inability to comprehend
the majesty and beauty of the Holy Name.
Blind and deaf to sacred truth,
inconstant in devotion,
I waver as a candle flame by the door.
The open door lets in a breath;
God is present in the darkness.

Author notes

"There is only One,
and there is nothing outside Him.
He is. He is and He is not;
and neither is He, nor is He not.
He is with form - all forms are His form,
all names are His name -
He is without form,
and He is beyond form and no-form."

- Sri Mâ Anandamayî -

Thank you Sharon, I appreciate your response. My spiritual practice is blown this way and that by circumstance and weakness, but there is always something to come back to, and forgiveness when I do.

    Fine, Thought Provoking Poem

Sri Mâ Anandamayî - appreciates "The Importance Of Forms" like I do. (This is the Title of a poem of mine you can access using Search at the poem section on my Author Page.)

"He is with form - all forms are His form"

This so intrigues me! Everything we know has form, even radio waves which we cannot see -- everything -- and it is all a part of God!

"He is with form - all forms are His form"

This is the great realization, that God is really here and everywhere, simultaneously. Thank you for your appreciation of this small poem, I will try to find the one you have written (soon). Best wishes always.

Nice imagery of devotion. There is a resolution here and you end by comprehending what you felt you could not conprehend.

I enjoyed your write. Good luck with it.

    How I loved this poem!

    Congratulations on your Gold!

Holy Spirit means: Breath, Wind. And yes ... Where Breath is, there is God ... and He is omnipresent.

    Love

Air is a thing we know exists, everyone feels it; why can we not imagine winds and movements of spirit as well? Thank you for your beautiful presence, sweetie.

great! he is every where, in light and darkness, through happiness and sorrow. Life comes to stand still, without his presence.External things are for sences, what is behind is his presence.

    deserve gold, congrats

Thank you Venu! There is a long tradition of people losing everything and finding God; he is there when we stop looking for him, and other paradoxes. Thank you for your kind comment and applause.

The infinite complexity of The Light exceeds the ability of any perception to envelope whatever it may be. Man has broken his tiny, worthless, limited brain over this matter unsuccessfully from the instant he became capable of reasoning. Now he thinks advanced science is the pinnacle of thought, even if a billion questions it cannot answer to which a billion is added after each new discovery. I believe entities that have more answers than questions understand that phase of the process. But even they may not understand The Answer, which is not a mutual thing.

Thank you Chris! When I see how much smarter people than I have come up empty, I conclude that empty is a good place to be.

I am not very familiar with spiritual writing, although from time to time it sneaks into my poetry too, but you did it perfect.

Thank you Sonja. You do very well, as much of your writing has a spiritual basis, if not a clear spiritual expression. I'm happy you like this, thank you for comment and applause. :

So...I've learned from this that all 'form' poetry comes from God...did I...did I get that right?

I'm glad to see that you're not afraid to use the word "God". I don't know why so many are afraid to use it.

I'd just sum it up by saying God is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient. Complete agreement.
I see much humility in this piece Sandal.

Thank you for your thoughts and appreciation, Paul. I am agnostic about many things still, but not omnipresence, and that implies omniscience.
