She still can’t believe they hadn’t talked for almost over a year
If she didn’t know better she might think her friend no longer cared
They lived three blocks away and one only moved to the other side of town
One visit the other, she’s never home, then she just stopped coming around
They’d only known each other for thirty-five years or more
Met the first day on their first job they had the same test scores
The company couldn’t decide who to hire so they hired them both
They went to the cafeteria and with milk had a congratulation toast
One was only seventeen and the other was twenty-one
She was there when her friend had her daughter and then her only son
She held her hand when her friend’s oldest child, her daughter died
It was she who was there through the years when their was a need to cry
They were together when the others mother and twin were no more
The three musketeers the other sister that the twins both adored
How could they loose such a friendship, kinship by one moving away?
She just didn’t understand but maybe she would one day
I guess they’d grown apart something they thought would never be
Missing each other as friends for they were a part of each others family
Telephone numbers has changed and they don’t know what went wrong
Deep inside they’ll always be friends for their feelings were just that strong

This is a great write! Unfortunately friends come and go even when you think some will be there forever but will always have a place in our hearts forever.
