Frames Of Reference (gold)

Freezing each picture
in memory's frame
safeguards my tapestry
from unravelling.

Every thread
is interwoven,

in life's contemplation.

aye, everything is linked together, finely though, a slip and a fall could catch a thread and cause us to spill memories onto the floor. a good poem.

  • This is beautiful, it certainly deserved the gold in won. Thank you for your wonderful entry and good luck.

Beautifully done! You invite the reader to ponder the priceless value of Memory! It gives us a framework in which to understand the world and people around us. Particularly lovely weaving metaphor, "tapestry, unravelling, thread, interwoven." Outstanding use of your limited words--you didn't waste one!

excellent take on the prompt - the family portrait album is one of the most treasured things across most generations - when memory fails the images provide that emotional trigger to be able to relive some of the moments in life we hold dear.

So beautiful, to take a photo is to capture so much, more than initially meets the eye, it fascinates me to look back at things people don't see. Best to you in the contest
