plenty of pain felt coming from the cracks,
but predator’s spirit just refuses to die,
putting on the orb’s of defiant metal
to keep from fearing some stormy sky.
Being the fierceness in the gaze
born in the heart,
a wall you build over your panic
that refuses to crumble
in the face of any peril or plight.
Oh it is the iron eyes of courage,
the core of any fight,
dueling against the enemies within
making the feet have flight.
That soul of the warrior
growing inside to face any threat,
possessing with a flame
until you stop feeling the scars
from falling down and being wounded,
not stopping nor giving up,
unwilling to stay a victim.
Though threats come as the whirlwind,
which promise no mercy,
fingers grow claws to battle
any dangers or beasts.
Having raced up the mountain
without reaching the top,
just refusing to quit trying
regardless of how long it takes.
The hunt for survival
learned out of need,
lacking somebody’s else armor
only trusting to what you can create
by you calloused vigor of deed.
Oh it is the iron eyes of courage,
the core of any fight,
dueling against the enemies within
making the feet take flight.
Author notes
31 Eye of the Tiger – Survivor
Risin' up, back on the street
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive
So many times, it happens too fast
You change your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive
Chorus:
It's the eye of the tiger, it's the cream of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night
And he's watchin' us all in the eye of the tiger
Face to face, out in the heat
Hangin' tough, stayin' hungry
They stack the odds 'til we take to the street
For we kill with the skill to survive
chorus
Risin' up, straight to the top
Have the guts, got the glory
Went the distance, now I'm not gonna stop
Just a man and his will to survive
chorus
The eye of the tiger (repeats out)...
