Shielding my emotions from all around
Keeping my heart away from my sleeve.
Not wanting to get hurt,
From those I love.
But wanting you to see,
Just how I truly feel.
So I will remove my shield
And this cover-up.
This block I have but don't want.
Revealing emotions seem so hard,
Yet with you I feel uncovered.
