The September breeze
gradually frees the trees
from their leafy wardrobes,
protecting them in new gowns
of snowy whites.
This September,
a motherland lost
her soldier son's presence,
but he still covers her
in his protective wake
of intact freedom.

Oh wow this is a really deep piece. This is very thoughtful indeed.
The first stanza was lovely and then the second really hits home hard, making me think that maybe one of the reasons I am still here is because of the lives others gave for my freedom.
An excellent poem
Thanks you so much for entering mu first contest.
