A Man On Fire

As the smoke
Billowed
And the flesh
Seared
A man on fire
Ran rampant
In the streets
Unnoticed and ignored
As the rest of us
Were stuck
In our corners
Losing the religion
Bathing in sin
And asking questions
Only the flaming man
Could answer
As he continued
On his way…

Author notes

sometimes, you need to walk in the flames and get burned.

I could smell the seared flesh of the burning man and see him running and looking but never being able to find help. That man could be any of us....great job!

Wow, painful imagery! Love the metaphors here tho, very well done. Makes a great dark read
