he sailed the oceans blue
seizing jewels, food and weapons aplenty
from all he encountered, even from important gentry
He sailed the Caribbean in 'Queen Anne's Revenge'
drinking, taking hostages and forever on the scavenge
capturing boats and crew along the way
night after night, day after day
He was feared by one and all
although he rarely or never killed anyone, as records recall
and in the Charleston Blockade demanded medicines from the crew
and taking clothes from them as he held them to ransom for a day or two
His reign was frought with terror on sea and on land
pelting ships with empty rum bottles filled with gunpowder, made by his own hand
but after marooning most of his crew
(so he could keep more of his loot), he was shot and stabbed several times too

good overview of the marauding days of old blackbeard, very good job with the rhyming - unforced. it would be nice to visit such a paradise now it's no longer a pirate haven.

This is an interesting poem - I like the pace that you have created and the way that this packs toether so many tales of Blackbeard
I will definitely keep your family in my mind, and I hope that they recover fully in the shortest amount of time possible
I wish you the best of luck in the contest too!
Keep writing
