Like a river, life flows on
With hope, it sparkles and
reflects light, like a jewel
With love, it embraces the earth
Yet looks upward with reflective
rays of adventure and discovery
In isolation the river wanders
And tries many different avenues
Often, in loneliness, it must strive
Sometimes, it meets with other
meagering rivers and forms a
bond, like a beautiful friendship
There are many directions that the River
must roam and often little waves
well up from the river’s essense
These waves often form tiny streams
that go individually their own way
always remaining rooted in the river
On through Life, these little waves
that became streams continue to flow
deriving nourishment from the river
And these individual streams experience
many things - some wonderful, yet most
often conflicting and with turmoil
Until it reaches the ultimate goal -
The Sea - mingling and becoming
one with the Cosmic Ocean of Life
Again to branch out once more in the form
of countless Rivers, waves and little streams
Forming a multitude of bonds born again into Life
Yet, always deriving strength and
nourishment from it’s indwelling Source -
The One, All-embracing Nothingness of the Sea
