remembrance restored through golden hues
take me to the day you held me in regard,
a place that only your soul could create
and then so easily desert its post
lazy blanket days
under the sun
our hope fueled
by promises of still-turning leaves,
the branches not yet abandoned
from your autumnal breeze
but the winds did come,
slowly but strong,
and as the last hold-out was shaken
our shelter was broken
faltering in the currents
greens have turned,
oranges have burned,
and yellows have conceded to brown
but yet, I still love

Oh this is truly stunning. Your last line in this really brought tears to my eyes, but in a beautiful way.
I did change the contest requirement because I originally meant 'words' not 'lines' Sorry to confuse you. I will still accept your entry as this was my fault.
Thank you for entering my first contest!

LOVELY!!!!!
Fall is a beautiful time of year, vivid, vibrant colors which fly through the air on cool autumn breezes.
