Smells Like Teen Spirit (A Tribute To Kurt Cobain)

Cobain, Cobain, where have you gone
All of Seattle weeps on this night
The grunge prince, was found dead

Did you find your Nirvana, in final breath
The nights in pain were too much for you
The booze and pills no longer worked

Candle lit vigils, of world wide mourners
Paying homage to a talented, musical poet
Underneath the bridge, they all weep

Why did you have to leave us so soon
Did you think of your daughter, your wife
when you wrote the note and ended it all?

Tonight, I sit and listen to your voice
and can sense the hurt from your sickness
in your words, in your tone, in you

You paid your price and bought a ticket
one way, with no chance of a return
I cry for you and wish this was a dream...

~R.I.P. Kurt Cobain  February 20, 1967 – c. April 5, 1994

I remember the day he died ... I think a little part of the person I was went with him. Kurt was such an inspiration to so many, a very pained soul whose life had become a stage - one that he couldn't handle when the spot lights fell anymore.
You know, I began writing at age 14 - and it was him, the music itself, because I too was (am) such a melancholic soul.

A thoughtful dedication to someone who will forever be missed!

I loved his music. It is sad how many of our best artists end up dead by choice or otherwise. I feel you man...

Come as you are, as you were.
Take your time, hurry up, the choice is yours don't be late.
Excellent write. At least people like Cobaine and Staley went gracefully and didn't sell out "cough cough Eddy Vetter. Cough cough Chris Cornell."
The only musician from the grunge ira that still lives and breathes today is Dave Groll, how ironic, he's one of the very few hard rock musicians that believe in individuality.
Anyway, long live '90's grunge music, especially cause I was raised in it.
