Sewn

Patchworks are the pieces
Making the fabric of our lives
Memories and moments
Are the treasures
That bind

Lovingly sewn together
By the strongest of twine
Never to be broken
Upon this you can
Rely

Fastening eternal
All those that reside within
This very special quilt
Forever known as
Family

I love the idea of this poem soooo much...I would have liked to have seen more imagery & maybe more of a moment/story to show the poem to the reader...it is such a beautiful way of looking/comparing memories of family to a patchwork quilt - so lovely & thanks for entering!

Thanks ardent. You know I usually write very straight forward and not very subtle. But this one for some reason felt like it should be more open to interpretation, so people would use their own memories. I'm glad you enjoy the idea of this.

I love this. Quilting reminds me of my mother....I tried to write her a poem a few months back called "the quilt" ....using it as a metephore of our own weaving together and being of the same cloth....blah blah blah, lol....where am I going with this?

    I couldnt pull it off....
    but you pulled it off......beautifully.

(yeah, now I am going to go delete mine from my docs since there is no point after reading yours....but dont feel guilty)

    GREAT JOB!

    Jamie
