My Guiding Light

Looking through the doorway
I see you standing there
Only at night do you really shine
But even in the day, I notice you

You look at me with those eyes
And I feel them pierce my soul
It makes me draw to even think
And you steal my secrets easily

You are my guiding star
My inner conscience, the one
You pull me through time and space
And point me in the right direction

I gaze upon your heavenly face
And I see love and understanding
But if I go wrong, your face shows
And it breaks my heart to see it

My northern light, my light candle
Lighting my way wherever I go
I'm going to miss you when I'm gone
You make me feel like an angel

You break down my barriers
You shoot me in the heart
You make me open up everything
And then it hurts so much

But through the pain I've been through
With you there by my side
Aiding me, guiding me, helping me
I have survived, thanks to you

My guiding star
      the northern most star
            the brightest one I see
                  and the only one I want
