Future Generation (My Gift)

Cynical laughter in my head

planning my future since sixteen

tripping over make believe castles

falling onto plastic swords

for a warrior wields sharpen blades

princess? I grin such absurdities

a fool, they perceived ,as I

light my Marlboro, drinking coffee

sharing pillows good or bad

innocence is overrated

nope, forthcoming matters not

I pass out tieras to daughters

knight's weapon to sons

going to battle

my life experienced, I walked

sometimes I crawled on blood soaked knee

no need to look ahead, knowing whats there

here are my rainbows...given to you instead.

This is a great take on your chosen prompt... Your language and tone was appropriate, and the whole thing was just bursting at the seams with imagery and life. Well done, and thanks for entering
