If time was recorded in seconds only
we'd have a mighty big clock.
There'd be a seconds hand and a seconds arm
and at twenty one six hundred a bell would sound the alarm.
Can you imagine at school in an exam,
the examiner droning like a monotonous bee:
"ten thousand measures of time remaining"
and all concentration is lost in a sea
of thought, so turbulent. The ship flounders
taking down time as we know it.
A jiffy would be a better increment
of a human made constraint.
We'd all say there's so much time to waste.
I mean we have one thousand seconds left.
But oh dear, how wrong, only sweet sixteen minutes.
Time underestimated, if it was only measured in seconds.

This is a very interesting idea, and I like what you did with the prompt. Definitely thought-provoking. Nice write.

I am so glad that this prompt was chosen-I love the fact that you use these examples and that time would become an unappreciated commodity just because it sounds like theres a lot of it-really made me think this one. Cheers.
