The battle won, the day is done
as sets the weary sun,
the pain of lost innocence is clear
yet life has just begun.
They've paid their dues and life seems bleak
yet they'll fiercely protect,
but life is not all glitter and stars
not quite like they'd expect.
But faith is strong, they'll make it through
and one day build a life anew.

Words of truth and widon flows from your magic pen. Perhaps a lesson for the young who at times seem to give up on life. Write on.

Wonderful Write
Wonderful rhyme and flow and great imagery. It is sad how the inocence of childhood is taken away too quickly for some. Harsh reality sets in much too soon. Excellent write! Take care.
Blessings,
Sandy
