I wake in the morning
Stretching out my paws and flicking my tail
Wide yawn and my day begins
Nudging my kittens
I get them ready for their first day out
Once both are up, we three leave for the day
My kittens play behind me
Catching up once when I growl
And starting the cycle over after a few moments
We find a place by a field
I go and inspect to make sure it's clear
Once I growl my approval, my kittens dash out
I lay in the shade of the trees
Watching my babies chase one another and use me as a shield
After a while, I flick my tail to get their attention
With all our stomachs rumbling
I decide it's time to feed my babies
They nurse for a moment and run off for a little more play time
More time passes
I start to get hungry myself and growl for my kittens
They come over and purr their hello and I guide them to a safe spot
I leave my babies unattended
Just for a moment to get our breakfast
I find a buffalo and snag our food
Bringing the feast back to my babies
Allowing them their fill and eating by their side
After we're done and sated, it's time for a bath
Cleaning my babies first
Then cleaning myself while they curl us beside me
After we're all clean, I think it's time for a nap

Adorable!
It's not so different from a human mother and her babies' day. Those days weren't so long ago for me and probably not so far in the future when I get grandkids.
This was a very sweet poem, and I really enjoyed reading it. I liked how you portrayed their behavior and I felt like I was there the entire read, observing the scene, like watching a nature show. It was so cute how you described the cubs lagging behind and the mother tiger growling for them to catch up.
Well done, and thank you for writing this delightful poem and for entering the contest.
