Once spoken
they can not be taken back
So I sit waiting
to speak the right words
Wanting to say something magical
that entraps your heart
That make you love me forever
Worrying that I will say
the wrong ones
Driving you away
to think me a fool
I start to speak
but nothing comes out
How long will the words escape me
I dear not utter a single word
They hold me at bay
a mute prisoner
Fearing that to say
"I love you"
will sound superficial
self-centered
idiotic
