I knew you liked me all along.
Like reading between the lines of a soothing song.
We both knew it, we sort of did.
Yet we took the liking and then it hid.
Times we spent and now they are missed.
You moved away and we never kissed.
The fun we had when you were here.
If you get hurt it will heighten my fear.
Not knowing where you are in the world.
Makes less sense and my life is furled.
When we lied alone at night listening to the clock tick.
I miss you SO much that it makes me sick.
We never acted and that's our fault.
Like we kept our hearts locked in a vault.
It's to bad you're gone because you were my weakness and you're no longer here.
Of all of the things in the world to come true it had to be my greatest fear.

Aww...this was so beautiful and yet so very sad. I can really relate to it too. The things you wish you had said or did haunt you forever. You always look back and wonder what if and should I have. Great write. I loved the stanza, "We never acted and that's our fault/Like w kept our hearts locked in a vault/it's too (you might want to add another "0" to "to") bad you're gone because you were my weakness and you're no longer here/of all the things in the world to come true it had to be my greatest fear." Good Luck in the contest.
