I chase my dreams,
like a dog chases a cat,
...but sometimes gets along with out noticing
they're different.
As I cross the Broadway streets and see...
there is no way <---------
to turn, I look --------->
at the city lights,
as everything turns black and white,
like a old time movie,
I turn into,
the shadow walking,
across a bridge.
On a night I am painted,
and then it rains,
and the colors mix.
.@.@.@.
Together, they turn black and white.
As I look at the sky,
and reach up my hands, ¤
pretending I could catch a star,
knowing it's too far,
I get depressed,
and pull out
a cigarette, the thoughts
in my mind fret
but I wont forget
the colors in my mind
of black and white.
I stand at my
husband's funeral with
solemn black lace
covering my face
and remember the
white lace
that covered my face
on our wedding day.
The colors mix and turn into gray,
then
fade
away,
then come back again.
Like the waves of the ocean,
where we shared our first kiss
as the clouds drifted away...
laying on the sand,
as he held me,
that will be my
most cherished memory,
but now that he is gone,
all the colors
seemed to have faded away...
and now all I see,
is the black and white,
everyday.
