Secret

I've got a secret
I'll never tell.
I've got a secret,
and I love it well.

Maybe I've ridden
on a plume-winged whistle-bird.
Maybe I've hidden
and heard what should not be heard.
Maybe I have the power
to turn you into the fish.
Maybe I've found a flower
that will grant my dearest wish.

I've got a secret
I'll never tell.
I've got a secret,
and I love it well.

Maybe I've found a book
full of gruesome spells and blood.
Maybe I've learned to look
through a solid wall, or mud.
Maybe I have been promoted
to the Queen of all the Earth.
Maybe I've spent lives devoted
to the study of rebirth.

I've got a secret
I'll never tell.
I've got a secret,
and I love it well.
Shhhh!

Author notes

Actually, the real secret is the original lyrics to the second half of the second verse. I decided that they should remain unknown, mostly because they name the real secret.

Lol, now you have me curious as to what the secret is! >,< I like the rhythm in this, it flows really well and the rhyming is done well too. ^^ I'd say my favorite part is probably the fourth stanza because it seems more full of mystery and provoking things. I also like how you ended it with "Shhhh!" because that makes the reader think that they already know the secret, but yet they don't, which is a cool effect. Great job with this and keep writing!

    i think i know....

Great job with this one!! I love the line, "Maybe I've hidden/and heard what should not be heard." It's really vivid. I also love the "Shhhh!" at the end. It's a really nice way to end this. Fantastic!!

Nope, you don't know. Nobody knows. Ye shall never know. Hehehehehe. *evil grin* Although some of it does have something to do with what you're probably thinking about.
