Going through life
Trapped in a twisted web of confusion
Have to escape
From this mind anaesthetizing daze
Made a wrong turn
Got to go back start all over again
Looking for someone
Out of the ordinary, a companion
Stopped cold in my tracks
Stranded at a dead end, turn around
Pick up the pieces
The loose ends and takes up the slack
I’m searching endlessly
Feeling misplaced and perplexed
Got to go home
Have to discover my way back to you

threw should be 'through'.

Thank you
Your impression is correct but not of a young man but of a woman. Sometimes we all get lost along the path of life but given time we always find our way home -
This is very interesting. It creates an imagine in my mind of a very depressed young man walking away from what he truly loves because she no longer desires him.... he walks with his head down and all of a sudden he realizes what he's doing, so he turns around and runs back to the one he truly loves.
Maybe that's not what you wrote about at all, but that's the image that it gives me.
I like the line, "out of the ordinary, a companion / stopped cold in my tracks."
