My Prayer

Now the moment has come
              for me to go to sleep
I call upon the human race
              to finally be at peace

I wish for men and women
            to be treated the same
To see our children playing
            in our streets once again

I pray for the governments
            to do their very best
To put an end to violence
            so we can truly rest

I pray for no more guns
            and an end to all wars
To live together in peace,
            mine, ours and yours

    This poem is very simplistic and did not evoke any passion in me when I read it. Perhaps more descriptive words or images would create more of an impact for the reader

    You and me both. This was a great write. It kind of gives me the ranting letter feel, but with a message to it. I feel, that I can't rest truly without the world being at peace. I don't understand how anyone can be at peace when they sleep for the simple fact that they don't know what they'll wake up to, or even go to sleep to. This was a very great message out in such little words. Great job on this and thanks for the great read.
