Give And Take...

Their rich, greedy schemes
Falsely built the needy's dreams
All fallen down, now!

Author notes

Don't get wrapped around the axle, partisan hacks. This was just an easy contest for me to enter quickly--not a political statement or attack on anyone.

Interesting take on the Credit Crunch -not quite sure how it links to paranoia though. Feel free to enlighten me!

Whenever I hear someone talk about the economic crisis

It always seems to be due to a vast "other" wing amorphous conspiracy. For the lefties, it's the colluding banks and wall street demons, and now the feds giving them more money, instead of the the complainer, "the common man". To the right, it always seems to be the new socialist propagandizing federal "big brother" government, who will tax them without representation, destroy health care and private industry, and open an ACORN snakepit on every corner. Whoever is speaking, it is usually the fault of everyone who doesn't see things their way, and who of course are conspiring to steal that which "rightfully" belongs to the one being conspired against. Being a centrist, I definitely perceive both sides as somewhat paranoid, even though this particular piece was probably written with more so the liberal point of view in mind.

    Very good

In a literary sense, this fits the description, but I find it difficult to laugh at tragedy especially when it's a true story. Nevertheless, it is quite good.

I love the border. House of cards indeed! It goes very well with your excellent write. Goodbye to the American Dream, though they did come back well after the Depression but that was less of a bloodbath from the sound of it.

I'm wondering if they will have to draw in their horns when it comes to Iraq. I know I am sounding more political than you sound in your notes.
