T’was old Hollows eve and t’was a foggy night
But the drifting banks marred not the silent calm
The silence which for so long had held the lost town
Having choked all life like the icy hand of death itself
No man nor beast nor lowly mouse would dare break the silence
But that clock tower, that infernal timepiece
Which knew full well the repercussions of its actions
That damned clock did strike midnight
That demonic clock which never stopped
Did shatter the silence of the ancient town
An abandoned place of a forgotten holocaust
No man alive did hear the toll, but man did hear the toll
For as the clapper did hit the bell, bones did rattle below
Again and again the bell did strike, the sound like the devil’s laugh
And all who heard could feel the pull of the evil melody
They clawed their way up from the dirt
That graveyard soil that was so rank
A Thousand moans from decomposing lungs
Did answer that satanic bell’s black call
Dripping maggots and rotten flesh the dead did make their way
Towards that dark and putrid tower that called them from the grave
Author notes
Ok, so admitedly not that frightening but I think it turned out decent, lets see what the judges have to say.

This would fit in nicely on our reading list, and anything like it.

I agree with Falcon, except that great art earns these:
