Crimson Masterpiece

Missing image

Rage inspired
  high-velocity blood splatter
  decorates nearby a wall
  like an abstract painting ~
  the artist's eyes
  flair with lightening,
  his masterpiece now complete.

A work of genius,
  blood-lust, passion, hate ~
  every drop, smear, smudge
  absolute perfection,
  madness portrayed
  with delicate precision.

A faceless corpse
  served as his palette,
  providing more than ample amounts
  of fresh, thick crimson...
Each strike of his hammer
  a brushstroke ~
  lush, red patterns
  upon a textured whitewall canvas.

Satisfied,
  he photographs his latest work,
  another beautiful addition
  to his growing portfolio.

One day, he muses,
  he'll have enough pieces
  for an exclusive gallery showing.

Congrats on your gold, silver, and three honorable mentions!

I loved how you combined art with dark and bloodlust, but the dark part wasn't very emphasized, it seemed to me. Anyways, here's my favorite part:

    A faceless corpse
    served as his palette,
    providing more than ample amounts
    of fresh, thick crimson...
    Each strike of his hammer
    a brushstroke ~
    lush, red patterns
    upon a textured whitewall canvas.

    Very nice! Overall great write.

    Keep writing,

    Claire

  • Excellent, haunting imagery, the end made me shiver! I love this kind of twisted violence.
The large font sort of added to the feel of precise messiness, I like that as well. Thank you for the entry, I really like this!

That was a great read! This is probably one of the best dark poem I've read. You work the words really well and it flows great while also painting (haha) a great picture in your mind. I absolutely love it. Keep up the writing and good luck in the contest.

the imagery here is beyond words.. most definitely vivid, I can tell you.. good thing I don't get grossed out that easily or I'd be not feeling to good right about now. this poem is a masterpiece all by itself. I absolutely love it.. I would love to see his gallery.. so does that mean I'm a sick & twisted individual or perhaps something isn't right upstairs. I can sit and watch Dr G Medical Examiner while eating my dinner. and it doesn't bother me. but yet I'm afraid of the dark.. go figure doesn't make any sense does it??

good luck my guardian angel, though I must say I would give this gold.
