Reading just the other night,
when the words jumped off the page
Ran around the bedroom screaming,
hands were clinched in fists of rage
He slowed a moment to talk to me,
in a language I couldn’t understand
Constantly pointing at the letters,
that were written across his hand
Pretty soon he started shaking,
then his whole body did contort
Flopping uncontrollably as if,
he had no bones to help support
Writhing in certain agony, his skin began
to change, and then fall off
A whole new page of words appeared,
with the punctuation as he coughed
Once again he seemed quite rigid,
he slowly turned so I could read
I was only half way finished,
when all his letters did start to bleed
They gathered there in puddles,
as all his pigment faded away
Though now he was sobbing quietly,
I don’t know what he tried to say
As the letters crawled back up his legs,
his face slowly began to age
He cried what seemed his last lament,
as again he turned the page
The story was one as sad as sin,
then a ghastly pain shone in his eyes
He quickly sat down in front of me,
as his tears dripped on his thighs
It said that now his story was through,
but there was no reason to despise
He dragged himself back on the page,
he had reached his final demise
