*Thump-Thump.*
My breath escapes in a quick gasp while
The world falls like stars at sunrise,
Creating a burning portrait of beauty.
The darkness of uncertainty is washed away
Like a great flood that purged dust
From a deadened field of wilted poppies.
My face burns red
With your intense gaze. I feel
Cherished, standing tall
Like the Great Pyramids on
Blazing Egyptian sands.
And when my eyes shut
For a night of slumber
You fill my mind with security
I am safe in this calm sanctuary.
Your strength in spirit clashes
With the softness of a gentleman
When velvet meets steel
Just enough Power,
Just enough Gentleness
Aye me.
I Love You.

Great write! I love it. I love you descriptions and comparisons.
"...falls like stars at sunrise,

"...washed away

"...Cherished, standing tall
Like the Great Pyramids on
Blazing Egyptian sands."
Keep writting.

I, of course, love anything that references Egypt in general... and this piece was lovely.
"The darkness of uncertainty is washed away
Like a great flood that purged dust
From a deadened field of wilted poppies."
This was my favourite verse though, I just loved the image.

Oh this is wonderful! Let me see, what is my favorite part...I am torn between the first, third and fifth. It is all so wonderful, a true description of how it feels to fall in love the first time. Very nicely penned!

I think this is nice. I like the pyramid reference.
