Before You

Before You
I had all the inside pieces of my puzzle
I knew what the picture was,
For the most part,
Incomplete as it was,
I still was okay with the view of my life.
I was who I was,
A million colors and patterns swirling around,
Creating a picture that made enough sense to not give it up and throw all the pieces back into the box.
I had no boundaries,
My picture had no end,
Openness all around,
I was floating randomly through life
Before You.
Then you came around and changed it all.
You set yourself around the edges and fit yourself into corners;
You were the missing parts of me.
You were the outline to my life.
Didn't know I needed you,
Until you settled into me
And I into you.
My puzzle is complete
The picture is whole.
I can't imagine how I ever went on so ignorantly
Before You.
