Demons

He is held in the air
Above the pit of all evil
Suspended above the hatred
Barely above the misery
All that holds him up
Are three simple things

On his right wrist is tied a rope
Held tight by the power of love
Keeping him warm, and lively
He would not trade this
For any fortune or fame available

His left wrist is attached to a chain
Made from all sorts of happiness
He is merrier than a child on Christmas
More merry than a newly married couple
Keeping a smile on his face

Final the invisible force beneath him
The almighty power of the optimism
That is held within his soul
Something that keeps him up
Something that blocks all from below.

With these three things he can be him
And no one else can tempt him into another fate
But if one were to fail, the others would fall with it.

Optimism vanishes, the chain and rope break
Happiness disappears, the floor vanishes and the chain breaks
Love crushes, He falls from the floor while the chain is released
So he must keep all in balance
To keep the demons from feeding on his soul
And turning him in the wrong direction
Into that endless pit of all the worlds problems
Into that darkness of Pandora’s Box

The only question that he now provides
Is how long will it all support him
And how long till he falls in
And becomes the true demon he is.
