Even with mistakes however great they may be, after sincerely repenting and seeking God's approval, we can accomplish integrity completeness and holiness of heart devotion. Psalm 26: 2, 3 says "Examine me O Jehovah and put me to the test, refine my heart for your loving-kindness is in front of my eyes and i have walked in your truth". The heart truly seeking God's ways, knowing His ways with All our heart result in walking with Him in integrity. Mat. 22: 37 says we must love God with all mind, strength and soul and be dependent to trust His love for us. Every aspects to be with God and get his approval involves not only worship. The world has very low moral standards. Satan uses influences and pressures with great pace. Take heart! Despite Satan we can walk with Jehovah. Psalm 26 composed by King David who was an integrity keeper was written by his personal experience, not uprightness in his own eyes. David wanted to acknowledge mistakes and make adjustments in integrity. Even he made gross mistakes even murder, he did not turn away his love from Jehovah (I King 9: 4).
Verse 2 mention "examine me" and "refine my heart" innermost thinking, emotions, feelings and motivation of King David. What do you see me for adjustments, David asking God. He meditated on His counsel, sink it down, rooted in deeper parts (where integrity keeping happens). God invited David in prayer to refine the inside and reflect on the counsel of His words, filtered down and took roots in the deepest of his heart. The truth mold us and refine us by God and successfully we walk in integrity. Verse 3 David referred to walk in Jehovah's truth, fill his heart with His ways. The world then and now is untruth filled after untruth. Studying the Bible even 5 minutes each day is beneficial in building up our integrity keeping. Verses 4 and 5 "i have not sat with men of untruth and with those who hide what they are.. i have hated the congregation of evildoers and with the wicked ones i do not sit". Avoid bad associations. It influences wrongdoing, hinders integrity such as violence, immorality, spiritism, abortion. With the internet people rub shoulders with chatrooms and sexual predators at work and at school. Apostates feed poison, turn you away from Jesus, they have double lifes even famous, are bitter about the truth, come close to bait you away from the truth. Be careful!
Verse 6 "shall wash my hands in innocency itself" did not say that David was a Levite and he was not performing altar service. Even a king then could not enter the tabernacle. David was determined to carry out pure worship and the necessary sacrifices according to God's moral standards. David built his life around the service of Jehovah. Our faith and moral cleaness is a walk in integrity. Verse 7 David declare to others how was important the part of his integrity keeping. It keeps us strong, bright, resist apathy and skepticism of the world. In v. 8 the tabernacle was the center of pure worship in Israel and they live to be instructed in integrity keeping. They learned how to gain this live in Jehovah's house.
In v. 9 and 10 "do not take away my soul along with sinners along with bloodguilty men in whise hands there is loose conduct and full of bribery" mentions not to loose your life with wrongdoers and end up in disaster and bleaching. A flood of immoral practices and a subtle influence on the internet is pornography. It is rampant and the evildoers are vile and looking constantly. Hard to be a moral integrity keeper. With a mate, rooving eyes, flirting, harsh cutting words and actions cause wounds difficult to heal. Spend time in love and integrity.
Christian marriages are base on monogamy which is the original model given by God for humanity in Eden. In Genesis 2: 24 "a man will stick to his wife and they must become one flesh". Polygamy, same sex/bi marriage, pagan marriage, adultery, fornication outside mariage are not in harmony and condemned and not recognized by God. Fornication and sex outside marriage is a motive for divorce (Mat. 19: 9) In I Cor. 7: 39, the Bible encourages "to marry in the Lord" and in christian faith. In v. 11, 12 "in my integrity i shall walk" reflects and resulted in king David sentiments. He build a stand on a level face. Stick to that safe ground in God's blessings now and for eternity.
