Only books read never say
what waits here in the dark
for voices speak in fiery tones
ignited by a spark
Hearts that rage unto the night
with deeds of derring-do
hide their secrets indisposed
leaving not a wit or clue
To touch the heights from far above
leaves nothing in the fire
where tyre marks the new refrain
like lust unto desire
When speaking to a maiden fair
an outlook far from here
there are no panacea's beheld
just in case of fleeting deer
So ask me what I think there is
between these crossing lines
where fate and hope become as one
like lightening rods so fine

Bright but..
I don't feel this went anywhere, or, it didn't take me anywhere.
It was.. emotion, feeling, your feelings. And what goes on inside your head, vs... making your reader think about something. Or lose sleep. I like losing sleep.
Thank you, and good luck! -
I like the rhyme in your poem. It shows poetry as an art. Just what I'm looking for. Great job.
Thanks for your entry.
