hey guthrie
i never heard
a song you wrote
but even so
i liked your
song box:
acoustic--
of course
finished so
fine it reflects
the world
but above that
-right above
that you painted
a poem
only four words
but a novel still:
this
machine
kills
fascists.

This is one to ponder a bit upon actually... I like that!
Thank you for entering this contest!
Leander -
Very cool!
I'm impressed; well done and good luck! -
Oh, you have to get to a library and check out his songs for young children. I like that you see a novel in those four words, too. Yay, acoustic.

-
-
I will do that. I've actually heard tons of his songs since I wrote this poem. Glad to meet another fan, though.

Oh, the power of music . . . I like this piece. It manages to communicate a lot with its brevity, something I always enjoy when done well. Thanks so much for entering my contest!
-
That was great man. I really like how you brought out the importance of the phrase "This machine kills fascists." Brilliant write it honestly gave me chills when i read the last 4 lines
-
-
thanks, bro. I had a feeling you would like this one.

I love the closing line to this. I assume you are refering to Woody. Have you heard the FULL version of
"This Land is Your Land"? If not check it out, a true anthem for dissidents.
-
-
yes indeed--i've even quoted it on my profile page.
-
-
Right on!

God Bless Woody...
four little words from one of the biggest voices ever to grace America....
Your piece is an interesting tribute..
And don't be so sure you haven't heard his stuff...so many others have covered his songs, and his influence lives on in so many of today's artists...
I will always have a special place in my heart for "This Land is Your Land"..I believe it ought to be our national anthem..
All the best,
Mat

That's awesome!
I want a machine like so. Was it a jukebox perhaps? Or is a song box an actual device that I've never heard of because I'm ignorant? >< -
-
i was thinking about featuring this one, what do you think? BTW, this is a true story, woody guthrie wrote that very thing on his guitar.
-
-
You totally should! It would be a hit. It's catchy and simple and even an ignorant person such as myself would still enojy it. :3
-
-
it's a guitar
-
-
Ah, good. I feel like an idiot. :3
Then agian, I never claimed to know a damn thing about guitar ><
-
-
-
i love the ending. absolutly love it.

-
-
i can't think of a single guitar player in the world who doesn't love the shit out of that
