Glory

Don't think—there's no time for that now.
Just wait and bask in the salt-licked air.
Feel your blood rushing, the adrenaline spreading
like consuming flames.
Taste the glory of anticipation,
threatening to devour you,
flooding all sense and diving inside
to burn your veins.

Don't think—just do, and listen for the sound
that will set you free into the plunge
and let loose your racing heart
into vindictive cold.
Thirty seconds of pain, desperation and vain.
Everything just beyond your fumbling grasp.
Years cut into moments: an instant too late
will never get gold.

the imagery was really well written. I liked this piece, especially the second stanza.
it had a very nice ending. I expect it's personal, cause it sure sounds like it.

    thanks for entering and goodluck

    very nice.
I think the capitalization at the beginning of every line is a little bit unnecessary, but that's just a personal preference.
