Sorrows herald
A tale does tell
Of a warrior
Who never felled
Left on shores
Of captive sea’s
A nobler man
You’d never meet
Not a harsh word
Not a curse said
Though his sword and shield
He’d never shed
Every day
In foreign land
He’d look toward the sea
For his warriors noble band
Years did pass
And years did go
Still the warrior waited
Faithful, to go home
Now his years
Are old and gray
And still his blind eyes
Will ever stray
Homeward
Towards lush green grass
Until one day
They carried him back-
The blaze was great
The pyre was high
They scattered his ashes
Across land, sea, and sky
Now he’s finally
Reached his home
A place called Heaven
Is where he’s from
